Spud's Jouney - Anxiety to Relaxation

When we first contacted Ingrid, we had been trying to work around our dog’s separation anxiety for years which cost us a fortune in day care, and a lot of stress finding friends and family to constantly help us out.

After a change in circumstances and several unfortunate incidents with other dogs, our boy had additionally developed anxiety issues in public, so taking him to social events with us had become less of an option. We were struggling to do the right thing by him as he would be stressed when left at home on his own and stressed when out and about with us. Help was desperately needed!

Gus’s Journey – from 0 seconds to 3 hours

We knew from the day we picked Gus up that he was a very affectionate little puppy and liked to be in the company of others, constantly following us from room to room. It was only when we attempted to leave him on his own that we discovered that it was actually dog separation anxiety.

We tried leaving him a couple of times before we realised that we were going to need professional help to ensure he was settled and happy when left on his own.
This is when I discovered Ingrid. Having read numerous reviews and stories I knew we were in the right place.

On our very first session with Ingrid we watched as Gus went into full panic mode as soon as we left the flat – barking, crying, pacing, jumping up at the front door – all within a few seconds. It was heart breaking to watch.

Milo’s Journey – Happy to be Alone

We re-homed Milo at 5 months old. He wasn’t a rescue but his owner couldn’t care for him any longer and we were lucky enough to get this nutty skinny blue boy.

Since we got him home that day, he was never happy to be alone. He would howl, bark and stand in the hallway staring at the door until we came home. We were lucky that he didn’t mess or destroy the house but he was clearly very distressed.

Flo’s Story – We Got There!

We adopted Flo, an ex-racing greyhound, direct from racing kennels when she was nearly 3. We were aware that greyhounds can be prone to separation anxiety so from day 1 we followed the usual advice. Despite our best efforts, it was soon clear that Flo had separation anxiety. We struggled to find someone who was able to help us but the situation quickly became very stressful for the whole family.
